problem with Adelphia~?

I am so sick of adelphia internet service. It takes forever to get things loaded if I am lucky enough to get online at all. I have been keeping a log of unsuccessful attemps and I read this to the customer service dept. every time I call them... but they always seem to reset my modum and get me back up and running again. -- but this is calling them every 2-3 days.

I am considering something else. The price is just outrageous not to get satisfactory service.

I have Adelphia and really have not had too many problems but the price is running me off. I have just switched back to Verizon telephone service from MCI because their price was terrible. I am also dropping Adelphia because of the price. Right now I am on that promotional fee but in a month or two it goes to 50 bucks and I am not going to pay that. I had DSL through Verizon before and it was really good so I am going back to that.

If you call Adelphia and ask for the "DSL Speed" service you can get the cable modem for about $20/month.
That's the service I have.

I have no problem with adelphia, have had it since the second day they had it available. Have had it go out a few times, but never more than an hour or 2 normally, if that (and that can be any internet provider). Speeds are generally pretty good, and my connection is actually split among 3 computers and sometimes a game system so ...if there is a problem, you might want to get them to do a line check on or such, it might be your computer infected or grunged up with spyware and not the connection itself (that stuff tends to really be noticeable on faster connections, since you're going from 90 to 35 mph as opposed to 50 to 35 mph)

I have to agree with ya. we dont have many problems at all out of it. And when i see people complaining all the time i try to figure out what the heck is going on. I have the Terayon TJ 715 modem and it does fine. i dont understand it at all.

I wanted to stay with Adelphia. I did "the one more month" thing for 6 or 7 months. I don't like Verizon as a company at all. Never did. But so far their DSL is much better than my experience with the Adelphia "High Speed"

One thing to consider is that Adelphia is changing hands soon. We're going to be stuck with either Comcast or TimeWarner within the next year.

One can only wonder what kind of cluster that transition will be.

Verizon now does Direct Tv, which has local channels....so we can get it all from verizon "on one low monthly bill" Plus we'll get 4 boxes, while we only have one digital cable box, cause any others are 6$ a month....my daughter is very excited.

my DSL now is loading faster than my cable did.....so DSL speed with them would be awesome cause it is better than theirs. It also depends on who in the surrounding area use cable internet as well....the more on in one area the slower it will be.

My DSL went out. That stupid storm that came through tuesday messed it up, but Sprint has the best tech support I have ever seen. Those people are top notch. When the DSL is working right, its lighting fast! [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
